About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on HR Generalist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Agoura Hills, CA. This is a true generalist role supporting day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and comfortable balancing employee support with compliance and administrative responsibilities.

This position partners closely with leadership and employees to ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining HR best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, orientation, and employee relations
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, offer letters, and background checks
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Administer benefits support, leave of absence tracking, and workers' compensation documentation
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, performance documentation, and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (CA), and local labor laws
  • Support payroll administration by auditing timecards and coordinating with payroll providers
  • Assist with HR projects, audits, training coordination, and policy updates
  • Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement and support

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR role
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions (employee relations, benefits, payroll support, recruiting)
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
